Elopements

peninsula park family courthouse elopement

I love it so much when family, especially kids, are involved in the celebration at a personal level. I met up with this family at Peninsula Park and after making some sun-drenched, rose-garden bursting photographs, we headed to Portland’s courthouse for the ceremony.

If you like elopements, check out this winter wedding at the courthouse and Gabbiano’s Italian restaurant, wet forest elopement under redwood trees, or this front yard wedding in the neighborhood.

Since their reception was at a tasty Italian eatery, Gabbianos, I jokingly suggested they should wear bibs. They did it. And from then on, their wedding was as scrumptious as a giant meatball. We met at their house, then visited the Peninsula Park Rose Garden for photos, then headed to the Portland Courthouse for the legal documents. Then, we ate some of the most delicious wedding food ever.

An elopement with immediate family and lots of kids, the ceremony at St Thomas More Newman at the University of Oregon campus, and reception at the Mount Tom House, with personal catering by an amazing chef. Surrounded by the people who matter the most, a playful and relaxed atmosphere, a bunch of nieces and nephews, and delicious food made a whole lotta joy.
