I live in North Portland and I absolutely love this place. So it's a wonderful feeling to meet people who adore it as much as I do. We wandered around St Johns Theater, Proper Eats, James John Cafe, Slim's, and of course Cathedral Park. Kate and Chris are getting married in Cathedral Park in St Johns. And I get to make their wedding pictures! I hope they don't mind if I'm munching on a burrito from Tienda Sante Cruz.

I try not to be cliche. In my blog posts and photographs, I want people to see what my clients are really like. But when a wedding like Jessie & Andy's comes along that is so far beyond creative, fun, and intensely special, I'm left just hoping my images can stand up next to everyone's memories. Held at the Cedar Ridge Retreat Center, a beautiful spot on a hill viewing the sun's decent (and divided by a 350' slip-n-slide where the bridal party and families held a massive competition that morning), Jessie & Andy's wedding was their own, filled with a sense of community, wood-fired pizzas by Tastebud Farm, gorgeous flowers by Ink & Peat, beautiful Oregon sunlight, flying Chinese lanterns, and live music performed by both themselves and their friends. Yeah, I know. Ridiculous. Also, I made an appearance in one of these photos, see if you can "I Spy" me.
So happy to be featured on the Wedding Channel a few weeks ago for Brandi & Ian's wedding at the Canby Pioneer Chapel and Weatherford's Restaurant! They had such creative and interesting details. But most importantly, their wedding was full of joy.
Portland weathermen are not to be trusted. That's why Jessica, Bryce, & I scheduled our engagement session on a day when it wouldn't be raining, when the light would be perfect, and where we could wander around Union Station being silly and having fun.
