The first engagement shoot in a triple threat weekend with Ashley in the Bay Area and how stoked were we when we met Larissa & Craig. If you were going to make Awesome Soup, you'd have to put in some Sweet, some Hilarious, a handful of Laughter, a sprinkle of Dumb Jokes, a wallop of Sickly Adorable, and Napa Valley. I know, that's cheesey, but if we added Cheese, the Awesome Soup would be unbearable.

Elli
I got a call the other day hoping I would be able to fit in a last minute senior shoot. Side note, to clarify, a "senior shoot" does not mean skeet shooting with elderly gentlemen, nor does it mean putting the elderly gentleman out of his misery. It means photographing a high school senior and may or may not involve skeet shooting. Back to the story. Thankfully I had a slot open for Sunday morning and Elli and I ran with it. She showed up being herself which is what I appreciate most. You can bring five changes of clothes, but if you forget yourself, or are not familiar with who you are after 12 years of school, you may as well just try again. Anyways, Elli is awesome. She was cool, willing to be creative, and gracious. And hung out for over an hour in the cold so that we could make some pictures.
Thank you SO MUCH Elli. I hope you love them and I wish you the best next year, especially hoping you get to attend that one college up north, you know the one.

Hailee
The weather was beautiful down at Willamette Park and Hailee was so great to work with. She's smart, thoughtful, loves philosophy and reading, and it doesn't hurt that she is also stunning. She's gonna pretty much rock her future's face off. Hailee, all the best to you in getting into the school and program you want. Also, you'll be happy to know that Arcade Fire was the soundtrack to processing these photos, so if you don't like it, I'm blaming them. :-)

Jenny & Dave
Sometimes people run into hard luck. Other times, people run into friends who have a house boat and who happen to be leaving for a few years and wanting you to house-sit for them. People like that are named Jenny and Dave and if anyone deserved that lucky break, it's them. They are sweet, kind, fun, and patient. It's pretty easy to photograph a couple in love on a houseboat on Lake Union in Seattle with SUN SHINING ON US, so we fought Seattle traffic over to the Seattle Zoo where Jenny and Dave still kept smiling and being in love. Then Ashley and I made them stand out on their cold porch as night crept in but they still were happy. Ridiculous. Still waiting for a frowny-pants engagement session. Any takers?
